If I have a telephone number for Malta what is the + number before the actual number please?

The plus sign used before an international phone number replaces your country’s IDD code or International Direct Dial Code. You can actually dial + when using a mobile phone or you can use the IDD code (leaving out the plus sign) with any phone. The IDD code for the UK is 00. A typical call from the UK to Malta would be: 00 356 followed by the 8 digit Maltese phone number. More info below:
