The way the operator told me was: 01149 06244 919 xxxx.
My uncle lives in Westhofen, Germany
His name appears in the phone book: F. Vargas, I sent him a manila envelope a month ago and did not receive any letter from him and I’m worry that it might have been lost in the mail.

Hi Debbie,

You need to drop the initial zero in the German phone number:
01149 6244 919 xxxx instead of 01149 06244 919 xxxx.
