The Autorite de Regulation de la Republique Islamique de Mauritanie announces a new numbering plan for telephone numbers in this country starting January 1, 2011. The upgrade from the previous plan consists in adding 1 digit to all fixed and mobile telephone numbers. As a result, Mauritania will have an 8 digit closed numbering plan across the country. Below is a list of digits to be added to the old 7 digit numbers after January 1, 2011:
