I will bbe in Cancun, Mx. with my US Cell phone.
While in Mexico, how do I call a local Mexican number? With my USA phone

When texting a message form Mx. to USA, do I need to have special settings?

Hello,

If the Mexican local number you want to call is a cell phone you can dial area code + local number (998 + 7 digits for Cancun). I believe this works for dialing to landlines as well.

If the number you want to call is not local you must add 01 before the area code.

To text from Mexico to the US you should use +1 ??? ??? ????. You do need to have an international plan to be able to call and text while traveling abroad. Call your wireless provider to ask about this.
