Morocco telephone numbering changes

As of March 7, 2009 The Agence Nationale de Reglementation des Telecomunications (Rabat, Morocco) announces a change in the numbering plan of this country. The change consists in adding one digit to all Morocco telephone numbers as follows:

• Fixed numbers are added digit 5 as follows:
  • 2 ??? ???? become 52 ??? ????
  • 3 ??? ???? become 53 ??? ????
• Mobile numbers are added digit 6 as follows:
  • 1 ??? ???? become 61 ??? ????
  • 4 ??? ???? become 64 ??? ????
  • 5 ??? ???? become 65 ??? ????
  • 6 ??? ???? become 66 ??? ????
  • 7 ??? ???? become 67 ??? ????
• Other phone numbers:
  • 8 ??? ???? become 80 ??? ????
  • 9 ??? ???? become 89 ??? ????
