    Hello,

Unfortunately it is impossible to guess the country this number is registered in. Most countries have 9 and 10 digit telephone numbers and many use zero as a trunk code (the starting zero you would have to leave out when dialing this number from abroad). If you at least had a short country list I could try to guess where the number is from.

Hi Nora. The ringing tone should be different because your phone will be registered in a Mexican network. Quite a few different frequencies are used for ringing tones depending on the country you are in. Moreover, the cadence of ringing tones is often not the same (how long the tone and the pause between ringing tones are). In this particular case, according to our sources Mexico uses a shorter 1.5 second ringing tone (2 seconds in the US) followed by a 3.5 second pause (4 seconds in the US). The ringing sound too is slightly different in Mexico.

    Hello,
When dialing this number (or any international number) from Australia you ought to use 0011 instead of the starting 00: 0011 1 312 and so on. Normally they should have listed the number in its universally acceptable international dialing format: +1 312 253 6469. You would then replace the plus sign with your country’s international exit code, which again is 0011 for AU. 00 works for most other countries.

    Hello Terry,
Yes, have her dial your US phone number regardless of your location (Italy or US). To call your US number she must add 00 to it (00 1 ??? ??? ????).

You can read more on how international roaming works.

    Michael,
Try adding area code 692 instead of just 69. There is a bit of confusion about Ukraine area codes, but I will update the Ukraine page soon. You should have: 011 380 692 ?????? (6 digits), provided you are dialing to a fixed number.

Let me know whether this has worked ..or not.

    Hi Nicola,
This is a rather frequently reported issue – international texts not reaching their destination. Possible causes (provided you have been dialing the right sequence which for Peru is +51 9?? ??? ???):
    -your wireless plan does not include/allow international texts;
-possible incompatibilities between your wireless network and his.

If you know for sure that your plan lets you send international texts I could try sending your friend a test message from my phone. If he gets my message then you would need to call your wireless provider to inquire about your issue. If you want to do this just send me the Peruvian cell number using the top Contact button on this page.

    Hi Josh,
This is strange indeed because you seem to have been dialing the right sequence: 011 39 334 7629???. The plus sign replaces 011 so you can’t use them both.

Try to use a different line to dial the number. Let me know if you’d like me to try dialing it for you.

    Hello,
Leaving out the zero after 63 is the correct way to dial. The zero is a code used for national calls within the Philippines and 63 is the country code. So you would dial 011 63 998-630-7xxx. Now why she won’t answer I can not say.

    Hello,

People from the US will dial your number as if you were in the US.

UK people will dial 00 1 followed by your 10 digit US number to reach you (this is exactly what you must dial to call back to the US and also what your wife should be using to call you/or you to call her).

To call to UK phones you can dial their numbers using the national dialing format which is 0 + 10 digits (example 07??? ??? ??? for a UK cell). Alternatively I believe you can also drop the starting zero and use +44 7??? ??? ??? which is the international version of a UK cell number.

    Hello Peter,
I see you are in the UK. You should dial either +380 or 00380 (when using +380 you must actually dial the plus sign).

    Hello,
Australian phone numbers of this type (1300) can generally be dialed within Australia only. You can try dialing it by adding 0061 before the number, but it is likely not going to work. 1300 numbers are called local rate numbers meaning that they carry a special rate for incoming calls dialed at a national level.

You can see more info on different types of Australian phone numbers here:

    Hello,
UAE registered cell phone numbers comprise 9 digits, the first digit being 5. To call a UAE mobile from Greece you would dial: 00 971 5?? ??? ???. More info by accessing the URL below:
    https://www.howtocallabroad.com/results.php?callfrom=greece&callto=united_arab_emirates

In case you are in fact trying to call a Greek mobile phone located in the UAE then you do not need to use any extra international dialing codes.

    Hi Gretna,
First of all, the toll free number can only be called from within Canada because its owner has chosen this. They could choose to receive calls from the US if they wanted to.

Some of this website’s users have reported being able to dial a US toll free number from other countries by replacing the toll free prefix with another set of digits. In your case 888 would be replaced with 881. You would of course be charged regular rates for the call. You would dial 1881 xxx xxxx. Here’s a page providing more information:

    Rafael,
To call this US toll free number from the Philippines dial 00 1 866 and so on. Keep in mind that toll free numbers in any country are meant to be called nationally, therefore your call may not work. If so, try replacing 866 with 883. You can read more info on this by visiting the page below:

    Hello,

The zero before 6 is not needed so just dial: +33 6309141xx. You have to literally key in the plus sign. As an alternative option I believe you can also dial the local version of the number: 06309141xx.

OK. Thanks for letting us know.

Of course 0044 or +44 is the same thing when dialing from Europe.
