I see. Often calls to these numbers from outside the UK are blocked, the reason being that 09.. numbers are pay per call and the caller would incur a higher charge. Same for 08 numbers which are toll free and again, they are meant to be toll free within the UK. Anyway, you can try dialing to see if it works. The way to dial is: 00 44 followed by the number without the leading zero. Example: 00 44 905 etc.

    Hello Donna,
While in Ireland your phone becomes and Irish cell. This means that you will use the dialing sequence locals use for calling either Irish or international numbers. To be more specific:
    -calls to the US: 00 1 ??? ??? ????
-calls within Ireland: dial what locals do; for example, calls to an Irish mobile phone have this dialing format: 08? ??? ????.

    Hello,
    You should have the following:
    +61 4???? ????.

The plus sign is used to dial or text internationally.
    61 is Australia’s country code.
The rest is the AU cell number.

    Hello Mark,

Your assumption is correct, you will basically dial from France to the US to contact your wife: 00 1 818 and so on.

So what is this 934, where did you get it? Chile cell phones are 9 digit and start with 9.

    Hello,
How many digits do you have after 934? Is this a cellular or landline phone you are calling?

You would enter 0011 63 followed by the Philippines cell which should start with 9. Below is a page on our website providing this info and other useful details:

    You’re welcome Jaunty.

    Steve,
I believe the fee and rate you mentioned are for just one phone, so in order to use two phones you both would be charged. Here’s the logic behind this: when you call your wife from London you pay your charges for placing an international call to the US. The call is then routed back to the UK and your wife also has to pay charges for receiving the call to the UK. This is how international roaming works. If you would be in the UK and your wife at home in the US then only you would pay for calling or receiving calls. So, unless you have some special family plan from AT&T I think you’ll both incur these fees. It wouldn’t hurt to call AT&T to make sure.

    Steve,
I think Jaunty above misread your question. If you and your wife will both be in London with US based cell phones, in order to call her you will have to dial the following: 00 1 812-555-1212. The call will be routed to the US and back to London. You and your wife will both get charged international rates (usually not low).

If your phones use the GSM technology you might be better off buying prepaid SIM cards with local London cell numbers (I think they are called Pay as you go).

    Hello,

The plus sign and 0011 prefix can be used interchangeably (either one or the other, never both). The same way when calling/texting from Mexico you can use either 00 or +.

Now, if the sms went through when you texted one Australian cell then it should normally go through for all Australian cell phones. The only possible issue could be that the other cell phones you texted are serviced by a different carrier than the one serving your girlfriend. Sometimes sms messages do not work internationally due to lack of agreements between carriers. I would say that this is unlikely in your case though. Calling your current Mexican carrier to inquire about this might help.

Since you have a Mexican mobile number now people from Australia should use the required dialing sequence for calling/texting a Mexican cell:
0011 52 1 xxx ??? ???? or + 52 1 xxx ??? ????. xxx is the city code where your phone is registered. 1 is a digit used when contacting Mexican cell phones from outside Mexico. See more info below:

    Hello Mohamed,
It is a UK cellular phone. To dial it using a mobile phone as well just enter the number starting with the + sign displayed before 44. If dialing using a home phone dial it by replacing + with 00 (00 44 etc).

I deleted your other post asking whether or not this number is from Ghana. 233 is Ghana’s country code – this is how you know. You could search for this cell number in Google. If it is a hotel number some info might show up. Try searching with and without Ghana’s country code.

It depends: with or without area code? With area code I can’t think of a country that has 5 digit phone numbers. Generally smaller countries with small populations have a lower number of digits in their phone numbers. If you have a specific country in mind just check our sitemap for that particular country (we provide info on number of digits for both landlines and mobile phones):
