    Hello,
You don’t need to add anything else – just make sure you enter the plus sign in the beginning (+39….). You can also use 00 instead of the plus sign: 0039….

In your first post you said “so that we Micronesians can text home”. This message suggests that you want to text Micronesia and there is a Pohnpei state in Micronesia. This is why my answer focused on Micronesia.

Now you are inquiring about texting China. Our website provides just this: information on dialing to any country from the US. Dialing instructions used for placing voice calls work for texting also. Below is the page you need to look at (see the “How to dial to China cellular” paragraph:

We also list phone books for Ireland on https://www.howtocallabroad.com/ireland/ , although, as the previous poster says, 011 is not a country code but a dialing code used to dial abroad from the US. Ireland’s country code is 353. If you’re not sure what country this person you are trying to locate lives in you can post all the info you have and I’ll try to help decide whether it’s Ireland or Australia.

Our website provides complete dialing instructions for calls from the US to all countries. Using 011 to dial out is correct. I’m not sure what you are trying to achieve with *67 (I suppose you are trying to hide your caller id?). I haven’t tried dialing internationally using *67 before 011.

Also, try to determine whether the phone you are calling to is a landline or cell. Most international cell phones do not require the addition of a geographical area code. Again, our pages have all the info you need.

    Hello,
Texting and calling are made using the same dialing sequence. From Australia to Colombia you will use: 0011 57 3?? ??? ????. Starting with 3 should be the actual Colombia cell phone. You can also use the plus sign (+) to replace 0011.

Hi Mark. As far as I am aware these paid per call or pay per minute information numbers can not be accessed from outside the country they are registered in. I believe this is mainly because they can not charge calls from other countries.

If you could call this number the correct way to dial would be: 00 31 900 1353 (900 is the area code here).

    Hello,
All fixed telephone numbers in Japan total 9 digits including the area code. This means that you should have 43 (Chiba’s area code) + 7 digits. I don’t know how old your number is, but it must be very old since you only have 4 digits and I couldn’t find any information on a recent numbering change of that magnitude. Could it be that the number you have is simply incomplete?

For official help try the Communications Ministry of Japan’s website:

Hi Nancy. You’re right, US phones use area codes, either cell phones or landlines while most countries use a unique dialing format for all cell phones.

To call another UK cell while in Spain you will use +44 7 and so on (you can also use 0044 7…). To call the same UK cell while both in Spain you will use the same dialing sequence. In this case the call will be directed to the UK and then redirected back to Spain by your friend’s UK wireless carrier. This is the way international roaming works and, in this case both you and your friend will pay for their part of the international call.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello,
Which list are you referring to? Micronesia has a closed dialing plan (no area codes are used), so in order to dial to any of its states including Pohnpei you must use 011 691 followed by the 7 digit Micronesian phone number. Is this what you are looking for?

    Hello,
You don’t change anything in the way you dial a cell phone located in another country – just dial it the way you do when the person you’re calling is in Australia: 04….. Here’s a link to a page on our website explaining in detail how it works, who pays for the call and so on:

    Hello Eithan,

Does your friend have an Australian cell in the UK? If so just enter her cell number without any additions: 04 ???? ????.

If your friend has a UK cell number of the format 07??? ??? ???, then you will enter +447??? ??? ??? (without spaces of course).

    Hello,
To text a Philippines cell add 0063 and drop the starting zero in the cell number: 006399… You can also enter the plus sign (+) using your mobile phone keyboard to replace the starting 00: +6399…

According to this Wikipedia article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_numbers_in_Cambodia Cambodian cell phones can also start with digits 6, 7 and 8. However, I do not have an official source confirming this. Once I do I will modify the info on howtocallabroad. For now I can confirm that most cell phones start with 1 and 9. If these other codes are indeed used, they were introduced recently and not many phones use them yet.

    Hello,
Your message is confusing. Japan’s country code is 81 so a phone number registered there would start with +81… or 0081… Below is a link to our page on calling Japan from Malaysia – we include geographic area codes and cell phone dialing formats:

    Hello Bagus,
Jaunty’s post is correct as usual. I would add that 001 or the plus sign both work. Basically your mistake has been not adding 9 between Argentina’s country code and the city you are dialing area code: +549341546… You should have 10 digits for area code plus local number (341 ??? ????).

Hi John. 4 months ago you asked a question and I answered it for you at https://www.howtocallabroad.com/forums/topic/australian-mobile-in-cambodia-from-uk

The answer is not the same, but similar in this case also: to call a cell phone traveling abroad you must dial it as if it were located in its home country. To contact a UK cell located in India or any other country you simply dial the number as if the person carrying this phone were still in the UK: 0777 xxxx xxx.

    I hope this helps.

Looks like a Morocco satellite cell phone. 212 is Morocco’s country code and the rest is the number (89…). Probably calling this number back would be pretty expensive.

    Hello,

Kuwait phone and fax numbers are 8 digit while the number you have is just 7 digit. In 2008 Kuwait added one digit to all fixed and mobile phone numbers. If this is an old number try adding digit 2 (two) to it: 011 965 2481…. Below is a link to our announcement on Kuwait’s renumbering in 2008:
