Hello Lilian. You have to add 00 63 to the Philippines number. For example, let’s say you want to call a Philippines cell of this format: 9?? ??? ???. You would dial 00 63 9?? ??? ???. Below is a page providing complete info on dialing from UK to the Philippines, including geographic area codes and time zone info:

Hello Keito. The fact that you are using an iphone to dial out makes no difference – it’s still a phone. You can use the regular instructions we give on this site for calling the US from Japan. Basically you will add 010 to the US toll free number. For example, if the TF number is 1800 000 0000 you will dial 010 1800 000 0000. Instead of 010 you can also use the plus sign (+). One thing you should be aware of – some US toll free numbers do not work when dialed from outside the US (if the tf number’s owner chose to block these calls). And secondly, if the call goes through you will still pay international charges (it will not be a free call), this being the reason why some companies advertising a tf number block incoming international calls.
Hello,
Could you be more specific please? What number are you trying to call and where is this number registered? Are you calling from United Arab Emirates?
Thank you.
Hello,
South Korea’s country code is 82 and 00 is the code you use to call or text internationally from Malaysia. This is why you have 0082. Instead of 00 you can also use the plus sign (+). So you either use 0082 or +82 followed by the Korean cell number which should start with 1 (one).
Although Scotland has legal and educational institutions separate from the rest of the UK it is however a part of the UK and not an independent country, therefore sharing UK’s country code 44. Here’s a Wikipedia link providing more information on Scotland’s political situation:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scotland
If you check our UK page at https://www.howtocallabroad.com/uk/ you’ll see that we list main Scottish cities’ area codes (Edinburgh, Glasgow..).
Hello,
Using the voice plan from any carrier is generally not free when dialing internationally, unless you have international minutes included. The only situation I can think of when some calls are free is when you have a data plan and you use a VoIP application with it. In other words, if you have mobile Internet with your wireless plan (broadband Internet is usually required) and your mobile phone is a smart phone (like iPhone or any Android powered phone, etc), then you can use an application like Skype to dial internationally at very low rates. You can even call for free if the person you are calling also has the same application installed.
Hello,
One thing you should know is that dialing a US toll free number from abroad is not free. If you want the call to be free for people in the Netherlands you must use a Netherlands toll free number that redirects to a US phone. Another option is to use a Netherlands local number also redirecting to the US (in both cases you, the receiver of these calls would pay international charges). Two such services that come to mind are Local Phone and United World Telecom for Dutch local numbers and toll free numbers respectively. Below are links to these services:
https://www.localphone.com/services/incoming_numbers
https://www.unitedworldtelecom.com/services/toll-free-numbers/
To answer the other part of your question: to call a US toll free number from the Netherlands the following dialing sequence is required: 00 1800 xxx xxxx. Note that some US toll free numbers can not be accessed from abroad. This usually happens when the toll free number’s owner choses not to be contacted from other countries which makes sense since calling the toll free number is not free for the caller.
If you have any further questions please reply to this message.
Hello,
Indian mobile numbers are 10 digit and start with 9: 9? ???? ????. To dial or text an Indian cell from Australia you would have: 0011 91 9? ???? ????. Or you can use the plus sign instead of 0011. Below is a link displaying more info:
https://www.howtocallabroad.com/results.php?callfrom=australia&callto=india
Hello,
Texting and calling use the same dialing sequence. To text from South Korea to the Philippines you would have: 001 63 followed by the Korean mobile number which should start with 9. Instead of 001 you can also use the plus sign: +63 9….
It depends on what type of minutes these were. I assumed she was told they were international minutes. If the 2000 minutes were for local use you can’t expect to have the same number of minutes when dialing to the UK.
Hello,
Two companies that come to mind providing wireless service in Australia are Telstra and Vodafone:
https://www.vodafone.com.au
https://www.telstra.com.au/
Like most such providers they have contract and prepaid plans. Contract plans are usually more cost effective, but they obviously require signing a term contract, likely for 2 years. Both companies have prepaid plans for mobile broadband starting at around $30 for several gb of traffic. Of course, if your daughter can find a free WiFi hotspot she wouldn’t need to buy the prepaid card.
Regarding telephone calls from her mobile phone: she can either use her UK phone to place/receive calls in roaming (this isn’t usually an inexpensive method), or she can buy a local SIM card with an Australia mobile number. It would be cheaper if you called her using some prepaid service such as https://www.localphone.com or https://www.rebtel.com because you probably have access to free local calling while she doesn’t. The services mentioned above charge low rates to any country, but in order to connect you must dial a local number.
One other thing you should know is that calls to mobile phones cost more and most calling service providers advertise the low rates for calling to landlines. If your daughter called you on your cell the above might explain why she didn’t get all the promised minutes.
Hello Kamla,
One question first: your name sounds muslim (Kamla). Do you live in the Philippines like you wrote (location is also important when placing a call)?
The number you posted is an Ecuador cellular phone: 593 is Ecuador’s country code and the remaining 8 digits form the mobile number.
Kosovo is an Autonomous Republic within the Republic of Serbia with a population of about 2 million. I don’t know exactly how many countries recognise their autonomy or independence. As far as I know they still use Serbia’s country code which is 381. Pristina is Kosovo’s capital city. Here’s a Wikipedia page providing more details
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autonomous_Province_of_Kosovo_and_Metohija
To dial to Kosovo you can use this page:
https://www.howtocallabroad.com/serbia/
Hello,
Are you saying that these lines can not place or receive calls? I imagine there are phones who can not dial out, but if a telephone can not receive calls what would be its use?
Until we build a page on dialing to/from Kosovo please use the page below:
https://www.howtocallabroad.com/results.php?callfrom=serbia&callto=mexico
Basically you will dial 00 52 followed by the Mexican phone number (including area code). To call cell phones you will also need to add digit 1 after 52 – see the page I mentioned above for complete info.
You can use a public phone to place local calls within South Korea. Our page on dialing to this country ( https://www.howtocallabroad.com/south-korea/ ) provides area codes for larger cities. One thing I am not sure of is whether they use area codes when calling locally. For example, Seoul’s area code is 2 and local numbers are 7 or 8 digit. So, to call locally to a landline in Seoul you either dial 02 followed by the local number or you just dial the local number without the area code. I believe it’s the former. The zero before area code 2 is a trunk code they use in South Korea for domestic calls only.
Below is a link to a page providing more info on using S Korean public phones:

Hello,
One thing you should understand is that calls to mobile phones in most countries cost more than calls to landlines, no matter what service you use. There are several provider offering VoIP or other types of services to call Saudi Arabia. Skype for instance is a service generally charging low rates (about 20 cents/min to Saudi Arabi mobile phones). Other companies with a good reputation: Rebtel, Pingo, SpeeyPIN, etc..
Faxing requires the same dialing sequence used for dialing voice calls. You can therefore use the dialing instructions featured on the page below:
https://www.howtocallabroad.com/egypt/
Hi Angela,
This looks like an Indonesian cell phone. Here’s the page on calling Indonesia from the US in case you want to call this number back:
https://www.howtocallabroad.com/indonesia/
Hello,
To call from the UK to US telephones you would dial: 00 1 followed by the 3 digit area code and 7 digit local number. Unlike the UK, cell phones in the US and Canada use area codes just like landlines do.
If you are in the US with a UK phone dial 011 44 followed by the UK number (you must leave out the starting zero, so if you have a UK cell of the format 07??? ??? ??? you would dial 011 44 7???……).
A third situation: people in the UK dialing a British cell located in the US do not need to add any extra codes to the number they usually dial when the phone is in the UK
