    Hello,

The dialing sequence looks right so the problem is likely on your end. I can try dialing this number for you, but only tomorrow since it is after 1 am right now in Afghanistan. I’ll keep you updated.

    Hello,
The previous poster is right – it seems that you are not allowed to place international calls. Or it could be that the number you are calling can not be dialed from outside Canada.

    Hello,

The same dialing sequence used for placing telephone calls is used for texting. Australian cell numbers have a national dialing format (they do not use geographical area codes): 4 ???? ????. Therefore, to text an Australian cell from the US you would enter either 011 61 4 ???? ???? or +61 4 ???? ???? (the plus sign replaces 011).

    Hello,
If your friend uses a Malaysian cell phone with a Malaysian phone number then you call/text her without adding any international calling codes (use the same number you use when your friend is in Malaysia).

    Hello,

I see you are from the UK. Texting or calling a Ukraine cell from the UK has this dialing sequence: 00 380 followed by the Ukraine cell which should be 9 digit. Below is a link showing you cellular number formats for Ukraine:
    https://www.howtocallabroad.com/results.php?callfrom=united_kingdom&callto=ukraine

One other detail – you can also use the plus sign instead of 00.

    Hello Mahmud,

Uzbekistan phone numbers are 9 digit including area code for landlines. To the phone number you must add 00 998. To dial a Khorezm landline you should have 00 998 62 ??? ????. If the number you are calling is a cell phone the dialing sequence is 00 998 9? ??? ????.

Don’t worry, I just want to help. I just dialed the number and it seems to work – it rang once and I hung up. Looks like there is a problem on your end. Have you been able to dial international calls before using the same line? It’s possible that the phone you are using can not dial internationally. If you are using a cell try replacing 00 with the plus sign. Let me know if I can further help you.

Looking at your profile I see you are located in Afghanistan. If so you would need to dial 00 380 followed by the Ukraine cell (50 ??? ????). Is this what you’ve been dialing with no success? I can try dialing this number for you just to see if it works – just le me have the complete #.

    Jim,
The number you have is a Japanese cell phone. These do not use area codes so what you need to dial is 011 81 80 3655 ????. The page I mentioned above has all this info (and more).

    Hello Anjani,

In order for me to help you it would help knowing the codes you’ve been dialing with no success. To answer your question, dialing from India to the Philippines requires the following codes: 00 63 followed by the Philippines phone number – 9 digits for landlines and 9 or 10 digits for cell phones. Hello Cinthia,

Dutch cell numbers do not use area codes – you tried using 2, 23 and 20 (not sure why you added 20 or 2 since only 23 is Haarlem’s area code). Anyway, what you should enter is either +31 6 ???? ???? or 00 31 6 ???? ???? – both work.

    Hello,

Using a calling card to place international calls requires dialing an access phone number first followed by the international number. After entering the access number provided by the calling card provider, in this case Naray Telecom, you would enter 001 57 followed by the Korean number. The link below has more info on dialing formats for landlines/cell phones in Colombia:

    Hello,

Haiti telephone numbers are 8 digit for fixed, cellular and VoIP numbers. Cell numbers start with digits 3 or 4 while fixed numbers start with 2. To dial internationally from Singapore you must use 001 before the country code so you will have: 001 509 ???? ????. See complete info on the page below:

    Hello,

Nothing changes in how Canadians will dial your number and they do not pay extra international fees either (you will pay extra fees). Your wireless provider redirects the call to wherever you are in the world. For this service to work make sure you have your roaming service activated before leaving Canada.

    Hi Mark,

First of all – does your cellular plan include/allow international texting? If you’re not sure ask your wireless provider.

The digits you are using look right although I am not aware of Solomon Islands cell numbers starting with 76 (most start with 74 and 75). It is possible of course that they’ve added some new prefixes. Have you been able to call this number? Instead of using the plus sign before 677 you can also use 00 for both texting and calling: 0067776000??.

Let me know if this works.

Sounds like an issue on her end. There’s really nothing you can do about it. Most likely a problem with coverage or something. I know that when I travel with my cell to another country I switch it off and back on – this often solves sudden dropped signal instances.

Has she received calls from other people? When you enter a roaming area you receive a few text messages informing you that your phone is now connected to a new wireless provider. Has she received these messages? If you want I can try dialing the number to see if I get the same error message (just send me the number if you want to do this).

    Hello,

Your assumption is correct – when people travel internationally with their cell phones the same number must be used to reach them, no matter where they are located. If they have roaming service activated the wireless provider in their country of residence will automatically forward the call to the country they are in. There could be several reasons why your call doesn’t go through:
-they forgot to or intentionally haven’t activated their roaming service (using a cell phone in roaming isn’t cheap and the cell owner pays for received calls too; for this reason some people choose to just leave the phone at home)
-they travel in a non coverage area or their cell is turned off

You seem to be dialing the right digits. Have you dialed international calls before using your current long distance service? It is possible that you don’t have a plan including international dialing. What I can do is try dialing this number for you to see if it rings – just send it over using the Contact button at the top right of this page. By doing this we’ll know whether or not there is a problem with your phone line.
