    Hello,
I couldn’t find a province or city named Al Jazira in Syria. Are you sure this is the name of the place you are trying to call? What is the Syrian number you’re trying to dial?

I believe numberingplans.com provides international numbering data for a fee.

    Hello,

You won’t find all this info readily available from a single resource. Compiling an accurate database requires research, using multiple resources. Also, this info changes continually (numbering formats) so you would need to update your database/software. A good website is wtng.info. But there are others too. On this website we constantly update our info.

    Hello,

I combined your 2 posts into one.

I have no way of knowing what mobile numbers are registered in Nigeria or any country. Moreover, there isn’t a cell number database where one can check a number’s owner.

The first number (+960..) is a mobile phone from the Maldives ( https://www.howtocallabroad.com/maldives/ ) while the second could be from Russia or Kazakhstan (they both have country code 7). Honestly, I do not recognize the number format after the country code 7. Could be some special service from one of the two countries. Why not call them back to find out who they are?

    Hi Sandy,

Europeans use the international exit code 00 to dial internationally and this is why they gave you this number starting with 00 (most people don’t know what this code means). To dial the number from the US just replace 00 with 011 which is the code used to call other countries from the US and Canada.

Complete info on dialing to Sweden is provided on the page below:

You are right, if the phone rings it generally means it is on (although it is possible to deactivate your voicemail and in this case the called phone appears to ring even when it is off – not the case here though). I really don’t know what to tell you other than that you are using the correct sequence to dial this number.

Cell phones usually do this – automatically let the answering service pick up after 4 rings. Are you saying that you communicated with this person and they’re not seing any missed calls from you?

    Hi Becky,
Unfortunately, Nigerian cellular numbers are issued with the same dialing format nationally. Basically it’s not possible to determine the number’s location (at least not for us regular people).

    Hello,

You definitely do not need to change the area code, even if they traveled abroad. I suspect there is a problem on their end. For example, the cell might be located in a non coverage area or it might be turned off. I suspect Argentinians do not need to activate a roaming plan when traveling within Argentina (usually this is required when people take their cell with them when traveling to another country).

    Hello Dianne,

To dial from the Philippines to Bhutan (cell or landline, it doesn’t matter) you would enter 00 975 followed by the Bhutan cellular number which should be an 8 digit number and start with digit 1 (one).

Likely there is a problem on her end – probably she doesn’t have roaming service activated for Italy and this would explain why you can’t reach her.

    Hi Karen,

No country has country code 815. This looks like a US number from Illinois (IL area code 815 covers the Nothern part of Illinois with cities such as Rockford, Aurora, De Kalb). Actually, I looked up the number and it is a cell phone from Crystal Lake, Illinois. There are some websites providing reverse phone lookup for US telephone numbers. I believe one of the most popular ones is Intelius.

OK. This is an Egypt cell phone and no matter where this phone is located you would still dial it as if your friend were in Egypt: 011 20 and so on. No need to add any Italian codes. By the way, Egypt’s country code is 20 and Cairo’s area code is indeed 2, however, cellular phones in Egypt do not use area codes, so no need to add 2 to the number (area code is only used for calls to landlines).

    Hi Karlyn,

Normally, if she is traveling outside of the UK with the same phone nothing changes in the way you dial this UK registered number. So if you can no longer connect there is likely a problem on her end.

    Hello,
The reason why you can’t call is because you are using 011 to dial – this is the exit code used to place international calls from North America. From the Philippines you must use 00 instead: 00 32 4???? ????.

866 numbers are toll free (also know as freephone in some countries) numbers in the US and Canada. This means that calling the number is generally free for you the caller. I believe calling from a cell phone isn’t free. Other toll free prefixes are: 800, 855, 877 and 888.

    Hello,
You must drop the starting zero from this Indonesian cell and enter the following:
011 62 815 99 10 888. As you can see you do not need to add Jakarta’s area code since mobile numbers in this country do not use area codes.

    Hi Bob,
Directory assistance numbers can generally be accessed only nationally because callers are charged on a pay per call basis and charging callers from another country is probably more complicated. In other words, Belgium directory assistance phone numbers (1207 and 1307) can only be dialed from Belgium. Most countries however provide international directory assistance (I think it’s 411 in Canada). In addition, on this page https://www.howtocallabroad.com/belgium/ we list several Belgium phone books.
