It’s easy. The plus sign can be found on one of the phone’s keyboard buttons. For example my Nokia phone has these two signs at the bottom left: * and +. To enter * you press the button once. To enter the plus sign (+) you quickly press twice. Same way you write text messages.

No, you just dial the number as if your son never left the US.

    Hi Susan,

    Thanks for using our website.
Yes, the number format is correct – spacing doesn’t make any difference as you will enter the number without spaces anyway.

Regarding your French – very likely the hotel reservation person speaks English so I wouldn’t worry about that. As for calling rates – generally using your cell to call internationally is pretty expensive, especially if you don’t have some special international plan activated. Using your landline is likely a better choice, although I would check rates first. The bigger US phone service providers charge high international rates. The lowest rates are charged by smaller companies (calling card providers, dial around services and the like). But then again, you will probably be on the phone for 1-2 minutes therefore your call will not cost a lot no matter what service you use.

You will dial 00 380 followed by the Ukrainian cell number. To see more details, including Ukraine cell number formats see this page.

    Hello,

Bolivian cell numbers do start with 7 as stated on our website. The second digit could be 9, but not only. From what I see you’ve been dialing the right digits. Could be that your current phone plan doesn’t allow for international calling. If you want me to try dialing this number for you send it over via the contact form link on the top right corner of this page.

    Hi,

I don’t know what to tell you. I would be very cautious about sending money.

    Hello,

This is definitely a Trinidad cellular. If the person you are calling is in Guyana he/she mist have roaming service to use this phone outside of Trinidad. To dial it from the US just enter the number like dialing a US state to state call: 1 868… When in Trinidad you can dial the 7 digit local number or 868+local number.

    Hello,

Digit 5 was added last year to all fixed numbers. So if you had 23447273 now you should have 523447273. This page has information on Morocco numbering plan changes

Your friend must enter either 001 60 plus your cell number (1….) or +60 plus your cell number (she must literally enter the plus sign before 60 using the phone’s keyboard).

    Hello,

If she’s in the US and she has her Ukraine cell with her Ukraine number you must call her like you do when she’s in the Ukraine (00 380 + cell number). The Ukrainian mobile operator will automatically forward her call to the US if roaming is activated.

    Hi Anita,
If the cell phone you’ll be calling is an Australian phone (and not a UK phone taken to Australia) you will dial the following:
    00 61 4 ???? ????.

    Hi Josh,

Just because calling quality from the US to Guatemala was poor doesn’t mean this will be the case viceversa. It depends on the carrier you’ll be using and so on. If you’ll be encountering problems calling the US, look for other options (calling from landline vs cellular for example).

    Hello,

Did you mean area code? If so the area code for Simferopol is 65.

If you looked at our Ukraine page (https://www.howtocallabroad.com/ukraine/) and you saw that cell phones use network codes – we list these for information purposes only (so you can differentiate a landline from a cellphone). However, if you have a cell number it should already include the network code. Network codes are not geographical, they only differentiate between cellular carriers.
