To place a collect call, service can be either provided by the called party’s phone company or by a third party provider. In the first case you should ask the called party’s phone company if they allow for collect calls from outside the country and if so what number you should dial to place such a call. For the latter, you must find a company that provides this service for calls from Russia to Canada.

The number could be the same even after four years. This looks like a Thailand fixed telephone number and to call it from India you would dial the exact same sequence you mentioned above.

When roaming you will place calls just like other subscribers from the new network place calls. In other words you should be able to dial local US calls by entering the 7 digit local number. If it doesn’t work add the area code (952 or 612). As for calling back to the UK you can either use +44 or 01144. You will indeed need to drop the starting zero from the UK numbers.

These are special numbers often not available for calls from outside the UK. To dial this number correctly from Australia you would enter: 0011 44 30…. (lose the first zero). If it’s not working try finding a regular contact number for this hospital.

Just to make sure I understand this correctly: you mean the 233 country code line would be used by someone who is in the UK? If so, this is possible with some VoIP services. Basically, some VoIP companies provide a globally available service meaning that you get a number registered in a certain country and when traveling abroad you keep the same number (provided you place calls via an Internet connection).

Dialing from a public phone is no different than using a home phone. To cal Malaysia dial 011 60 + phone number. Here’s a page showing Malaysian area codes and other info.

The best option for calling using a public phone is to buy a prepaid calling card that has a toll free access number. This way you will be able to place the call without having to put any money into the public phone (although some public phones may charge for dialing a toll free number). So: buy a prepaid card with toll free access number, dial the toll free number and follow the instructions.
