    Hi Yvonne,

If you are in the US with a Mexico cell use the instructions featured on https://www.howtocallabroad.com/mexico/

If you are in Mexico and want to dial a Mexico cell roaming in the US nothing changes in the way you dial the number (you dial it as if it was in Mexico).

    Hi Martin,
The number looks right to me. It is a Russian cell phone and the starting 7 is Russia’s country code so you would dial 011 7 92…

    Hi,
What’s the number? I’ll try to dial it to see if I get the same error message.

    Hi Beth,

Yes, add 011 before 353 and also drop the starting zero (087 becomes 87). The starting zero in Irish numbers is used for calls within Ireland.

For calls to Belfast use the dialing instructions for caling the UK . Remember that cell numbers in the UK/Ireland do not use area codes.

    Hi Nariteka,

The numbers you use to call should also work for texting. All I can advice you is to call your wireless provider and inquire about this issue. Possibly your plan no longer allows for international texting.

    Hello,
It’s very hard to locate cell phones across the UK because they all have the same format.

    Hi Rekhavi,

There’s nothing wrong with the way you dial this Denmark cell number. Most likely there is a problem on your end, possibly you don’t have a telephone plan that allows direct international dialing. Try calling your provider to inquire about this. One more thing: I just dialed this Denmark number and it rings.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Cody,

You don’t need to change anything in the way you dial this number (dial it as it is and the wireless carrier will transfer your call automatically).

    Hi Dan,
Since your friend is in Hawaii he must use Hawaii’s rule for dialing the US. Using 012 won’t work. He must dial 1 + area code + 7 digit number.

    Hello,

As I understand this you both have activated your roaming service and will be using your US cell phones in the Ukraine. If so you will dial your friend as if he was in the US. This page has instructions on dialing from the Ukraine to the USA (these are the dialing codes you’ll be using). You can replace the 8Pause10 sequence with the plus sign (+).

OK, so you shouldn’t add a 4 in the beginning. Instead you should drop the starting zero and dial 00 61 412431???. The starting zero is used for dialing within Australia.

Well you know what that means – it’s possible that the phone is blocked for incoming international calls. However, as I said above the cell number should look like this 4 ???? ????. In other words 4 followed by 8 digits. You have 4 followed by 10 digits. I hope you didn’t add a 4 in the beginning. Tell me this: was the number you were given: 0412…?

    Hi Amir,

If you open the drop down where it says “codes below” you will see a number of dialing formats for each Australian city and also for dialing to Australia cellular. The reason your call doesn’t go through is that you are adding Sydney’s area code (2). Australian cell phones do not need area codes therefore you should dial 00 61 + cell number (should look like this: 4 ???? ????).

Let me know if it still doesn’t work. Here’s the page with more on dialing from Egypt to Australia.

    Giri,

This number looks like an Indian cell phone. Is this someone from India traveling with his/her cell phone to Egypt? If so you don’t need to add any international codes – just dial the number like you do when this person is in India.

If this is not the case let me know by replying to this post.

Yes. And because the person hasn’t set up his/her voicemail you get this recording basically telling you that you can’t leave a message.

This number doesn’t look right: I believe the starting 8 should be 7 because 7 is Russia’s country code. The rest of the number 985… looks like a Russian cell phone. In fact I just tried dialing both ways: 00 7 8 985… and it doesn’t work. When dialing 00 7 985… the phone rings.

    Hi Stella,

Replacing the OK area code with a Canadian area code won’t work. If they are in Canada and have coverage/roaming over there you should be able to reach them using the OK number. In other words, their cell number is unique anywhere they would travel. From what I know however, roaming outside of US borders is quite expensive so it is possible that they turned the phone off while over there.

The other suggestion that they can’t receive calls from outside the US is quite plausible. In the US cell phone subscribers generally pay for calls/texts received so they likely have the option to turn off receiving calls from abroad. Not many people do it but who knows.

If we are talking about calling a US cellular phone with roaming service in Italy you will call this phone from any country (including the USA) as if the phone was still in the USA. In other words, calling this phone from the US doesn’t change and no international dialing codes are needed.

Calling this same cellular phone from Italy you must dial: 00 1 + 3 digit US area code + 7 digit number. This is how you call the US from Italy (landline or cell or US cell with roaming over there).

Here’s a page explaining in detail how international rooaming works.
