    Hi Zed,

You are dialing the right digits. Call you wireless provider to inquire about this – it’s possible that you need to activate international texting.

    Hi Michsa,

You must both activate international roaming – even texting has different rates if done from abroad. Ask you wireless provider about rates.

You won’t dial as if you were in the US. People from the US will dial your numbers as if you were in the US. You will dial each other as if the other was in the US. For example: to call/text you from Costa Rica your sister will dial: 00 1 716 123 4567. For you to call/text your sister in Costa Rica you will dial 1 716 123 4567 because the Bahamas is part of the North American Numbering Plan.

You should be reached the same way on a ship.

Well the number is indeed too long unless it also contains the country code. Are you sure this number is in South Korea? Isn’t it in South Africa? South Africa has country code 27 and it would make sense to have 27 (country code) + cell number. In this case you would dial 00 27…. This is the only idea I have. Let me know if it worked this way.

    Hi,

You would dial 00 82 + phone number. To be able to tell you if the number you have looks right I need to know how many digits you have: 27700 followed by how many more digits? Is this a Seoul number? It looks like one.

    Hi,

I assume that Smart and Globe are two Philippines wireless providers? If so can you provide the two numbers you have been dialing (replace the last 3 digits in each number with ???).

    Hi Jenis,
Normally, to dial from Singapore to Taiwan you would enter 001 886 49 28… See if this works (some sources also provide 008 for Singapore’s exit code instead of 001). The number you have looks like it has one too many digits, but I may be wrong. Let me know if your call goes through.

    Hi,

Normally you should dial: 001 870 241 33 ??. This number is a UK freephone so it doesn’t need an area code. Also, the starting zero must be dropped. However, dialing this freephone number from outside the UK will probably not work. These freephone numbers generally work from within the UK only. If this is a firm they should also have a regular contact number you can call.

    Hello,

People will CALL YOU as if you were in the US, even people from the country you will be in. As for how you will be making calls – you are right, you will use the dialing procedure of the country you’ll be in. For example: to call the US from any European country you will dial 00 1 + area code + 7 digit number.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi,

Yes, the codes entered are right: 00 244 9…. If you can’t connect it’s likely because you don’t have international access with your landline service.

    Hi Mark,
The 00 code is used to call from Europe and other countries. You must replace it with 011 like this: 011 92 …. Here’s more info on dialing from US to Pakistan

Check out these pages – you use the same dialing pattern required for placing a voice call. You can replace the 00 and 00 xx with the plus sign.

Indeed you must add 1 after Mexico’s country code 52. You must also add Mexico City’s area code which is 55. But anyway, if you could connect then you are dialing the right digits. Texting should work the same way. If it doesn’t work it’s either because your current plan doesn’t allow international texting, or there is an incompatibility between the two wireless networks (yours and the one in Mexico). In any case I would call my wireless provider to inquire about this.

One other option you can try is to replace the starting plus sign with 00.

    Hello,
Most likely you don’t see the whole/correct number because it can not start with a triple zero.

    Hi Dan,

My apologies – after doing some more research I have come to the conclusion that the right code is 45. To be convinced try using one of the phone books listed on https://www.howtocallabroad.com/cuba/ to search for something and you will see that the numbers listed for Matanzas start with 45. Our pages are updated with the right code now. Thanks for the heads up.

Ho Chi Minh City has area code 8 so the number could be from this city.
