    Hi Blacktulip,

Mobile numbers are national so you should dial the whole number (0402…) regardless of location.

The landline number you have also has Australia’s country code (61). Leave that out and add a zero: 07 33… You can dial local landline numbers without the area code which is 07 in this case.

    Hi Craig,

The numbers you are dialing look right so most likely there is a problem on your end. Try using another connection to dial this number.

If you send me the whole number via the contact form above I can try to dial it to see if it rings.

    Hi,

00 is used as an exit international code by many countries in Europe and not only. In the US they use 011 instead. Are you saying that you could call VT from the USA using 00?

As for the second number – it’s hard to conclude where it is from. 852 is the country code for Hong Kong. However, the remaining digits are too few to form a regular phone number. Could be a special number. Or it is possible that, for some reason your phone doesn’t show the whole/correct number.

I don’t know what to tell you – I tried the 533 number and it rings for me. Try using a different connection to dial out.

    Hi kitty:)

First of all both the two numbers are Morocco landlines. I just tried dialing the new number your friend gave you and it rings (00 212 533 289 ???). For the second number to work you must also add a 5: 00 212 537 800 ???.

    Hello,

The correct way to dial this VT cell is 011 84 126… (here’s more info on calling Vietnam). Same dialing procedure works for texting the number. It’s hard for me to say why the call doesn’t go through. One thing I can do – if you send me a message with the whole phone number using the contact link at the top right I can dial this number for you just to see if it rings. This way we’ll know if the problem is on your end.

    Hi Linzi,

On this page we list some Nepal phone books. Maybe contacting the White Pages publisher would help (they don’t seem to have a Reverse phone number lookup).

    Hi,

Nothing changes in the way you dial the cell phone in Turkey (you will dial it as if it was in the US). You (the US caller) will not incur any extra charges – these will be paid by the receiver of the call visiting Turkey. They will pay the same charges whether you will call using your cell or landline.

    Hi Christine,

First of all make sure you both activate international roaming to be able to use your US cell phones in the two countries. To make calls to your husband’s US cell while in Italy or Greece you must add a 00 in front of the US number: 00 1 ??? ??? ????.

    Hello,

Yes, this indeed looks like a Philippino cell number.
The called party should not be charged anything for incoming calls. The 19 cents/min rate is about average (you would likely pay less for calling a fixed line).

Well this is what you use to text Cuba from Canada. If it doesn’t work then it is a network issue – try calling your wireless provider to inquire about this (most likely they have been asked questions about this before).

Try placing 011 in front of 53.

If you can’t receive them there is likely a problem with your friend’s wireless network (possibly he can not send international text messages). Ask him to call his provider and inquire about this issue.

    Hi Isabel,

Use the same method used for calling. Here’s a page showing calling codes from UK to South Korea.

Hi. Most likely your friend has international roaming so don’t add any international codes, just dial the number as it is (04 ???? ????).

    Hi,

You don’t place 1 after 57. You should dial 011 57 305-374-????. This is a Colombian cell number.

More info on dialing from Puerto Rico to Colombia.

    Hi Martin,

The correct way to dial is 00 44 + number including area code. It seems that your number misses one digit. UK numbers total 10 digits (area code + local number). From what you wrote I see you only have 9. If you want I can try to dial the number for you just to see if it rings (you can send me a private message with the number using the Contact link at the top right).

Just to make sure: you are not adding a plus sign after 00 I hope. The plus sign can be used to replace 00 so you either dial 00 966 5… or you dial +9665… Other than this everything looks right to me so if you still can’t get connected try using another line to dial.

Same dialing sequence used for dialing works for texting also: 011 39 followed by the cell number. More info on https://www.howtocallabroad.com/italy/

    Hello,

Not sure why your friend’s caller ID would show a different number. Are you sure she’s calling from the same phone? I haven’t heard of this error before, but if the number shown follows the same pattern (02 8…) I guess it is generally good indicator that your friend is calling, even though the number is not right.
